The construction industry has an important contribution to make in improving the water and energy efficiency of the buildings it constructs.

We are keen to work with the construction industry from the start of projects. We can give important environmental advice and information, which may save time and money later on.

We do not regulate the construction industry under Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC). But we are looking for improvements in resource efficiency. Especially in:

  • reducing the amount of waste - including hazardous waste - it produces, and
  • increasing its waste re-use

As a business you also have a Duty of Care to dispose of your waste legally and safely. This includes contaminated land to demolition and excavation waste.
