- Online from this website (for Full, Junior Concessionary, 8-day and 1-day licences only). Buy your licence online.
Who needs a licence?
Anyone aged 12 years or over who fishes for salmon, trout, freshwater fish or eels in England, Wales or the Border Esk in Scotland, must have an Environment Agency rod fishing licence.

Who qualifies for a concessionary licence?
You are eligible for a concessionary licence if:
- You are aged 12 to 16 inclusive (Junior)
- You are aged 65 years or over (Senior)
- You have a Blue Badge parking concession, or are in receipt of Disability Living Allowance any rate
What counts as proof of eligibility?
Anglers aged 65 or over will need to provide one of the following:
- Birth certificate
- Drivers licence
- Valid passport
- Medical card
Eligible disabled anglers will need to show either their blue badge or a recent letter from the Department of Work and Pensions showing their receipt of Disability Living Allowance.
