Foundation degrees

Our two year River and Coastal Engineering Foundation Degree is a fantastic way to kick start your engineering career and gain a university qualification - providing a combination of academic study with training on real life projects. The course has been co-created with the University of the West of England and Middlesex University.

We are also working in partnership with the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and local authorities, to offer places for the September intake of the Local Authorities River and Coastal Engineering Foundation Degree. Your placement will be with a local authority and you'll embark on a two-year training and development programme that’s been created by the University of the West of England (UWE) and ourselves.

Graduate programmes

The Times Top 100 Graduate EmployersDue to the success of our graduate programmes we have been listed in The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers, a list compiled from research carried out amongst over 16,000 final year students.

We run graduate programmes for civil engineers and business and IT graduates.

Civil engineering graduates work to help to protect the millions of people at risk of flooding in England and Wales and play a central role in one of the most complex and exciting engineering challenges of modern times. For those studying a civil engineering degree (or equivalent) we also offer a sponsored work experience programme.

Business and IT graduates will work to implement and develop our information systems and help deliver important environmental projects. All of which help to create a better place for people and wildlife in England and Wales.
